The k-means range algorithm for personalized data clustering in e-commerce

چکیده
This paper describes the k-means range algorithm, a combination of the partitional k-means clustering algorithm with a well known spatial data structure, namely the range tree, which allows fast range searches. It offers a real-time solution for the development of distributed interactive decision aids in e-commerce since it allows the consumer to model his preferences along multiple dimensions, search for product information, and then produce the data clusters of the products retrieved to enhance his purchase decisions. This paper also discusses the implications and advantages of this approach in the development of on-line shopping environments and consumer decision aids in traditional and mobile e-commerce applications. 2005 Elsevier B.V. Personalized Trust Management in Decision Making: A dynamic clustering approach
This paper presents a personalized approach for distributed trust management by employing the k-means range algorithm, a combination of the partitional kmeans clustering algorithm with orthogonal range search concepts. The aim of this approach is to aid the human or computer agent in organizing information from multiple sources into clusters according to its “trust features”. Thus the agent can...
متن کاملPersistent K-Means: Stable Data Clustering Algorithm Based on K-Means Algorithm
Identifying clusters or clustering is an important aspect of data analysis. It is the task of grouping a set of objects in such a way those objects in the same group/cluster are more similar in some sense or another. It is a main task of exploratory data mining, and a common technique for statistical data analysis This paper proposed an improved version of K-Means algorithm, namely Persistent K...
متن کاملA Hybrid Data Clustering Algorithm Using Modified Krill Herd Algorithm and K-MEANS
Data clustering is the process of partitioning a set of data objects into meaning clusters or groups. Due to the vast usage of clustering algorithms in many fields, a lot of research is still going on to find the best and efficient clustering algorithm. K-means is simple and easy to implement, but it suffers from initialization of cluster center and hence trapped in local optimum. In this paper...
متن کاملAn Improved K-Means with Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for Clustering Crimes
Crime detection is one of the major issues in the field of criminology. In fact, criminology includes knowing the details of a crime and its intangible relations with the offender. In spite of the enormous amount of data on offenses and offenders, and the complex and intangible semantic relationships between this information, criminology has become one of the most important areas in the field o...
متن کاملA Fuzzy C-means Algorithm for Clustering Fuzzy Data and Its Application in Clustering Incomplete Data
The fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm is a useful tool for clustering; but it is convenient only for crisp complete data. In this article, an enhancement of the algorithm is proposed which is suitable for clustering trapezoidal fuzzy data. A linear ranking function is used to define a distance for trapezoidal fuzzy data. Then, as an application, a method based on the proposed algorithm is pres...
